Event to focus on taxing online sales

The Albuquerque Independent Business Alliance will hold an event April 15 at Bookworks about collecting sales tax on Internet sales.
Guest speakers are Oren Teicher, CEO of the American Bookseller Association, and Len Viahos, COO of the Association. They will provide an update on efforts around the country to collect sales tax on Internet purchases and lead a discussion on advancing the issue in New Mexico easy pay day loans.
Legislation was introduced in the Legislature this year regarding online sales tax, but it did not pass.
The event starts at 5:30 p.m. at 4022 Rio Grande Blvd. NW.
